Avast me hearties!!
We are all very excited because next Tuesday we are going to Underwater Street in Liverpool to explore lots of pirate activities!
We are going to take a packed lunch with us wrapped inside a named carrier bag so we don't have to carry a lunch box around with us. Please do not bring a drink in a glass bottle  - a carton will do nicely!
We have learnt that pirates ate bone soup with hard sea biscuits dipped in it! The pirates from St. Peter's would prefer sandwiches!!

As we break up next Thursday for our half term holiday, our spelling test will be on Thursday!!

Look out for a new blog next week with lots of photographs of our adventure at Underwater Street!

If you don't you might have to WALK THE PLANK!!

January 2017

It doesn't seem five minutes since we started back at school yet already we are over half way through January!

This term we have welcomed two Year 2 girls into our class. Ruby and Emma are settling into Rowan very well and are very much valued members of our class!
We are really excited about our new topic of Pirates and have already learnt about a real pirate, Blackbeard and a fictitious pirate Captain Hook. We are all looking forward to our trip to the new Underwater Street in Liverpool in a few weeks time.

This half term we have a fitness coach in school named Josh. He is showing us how we can keep our body fit. That's great fun!
This half term our PE lessons are on Tuesday afternoon and Friday morning.

Each Monday, Miss Marland is taking us outdoors for Forest School so please make sure we all have a pair of wellies in school. Thank you.

Remember to learn your spellings for a spelling test each Friday! The words are ones that all
Years 1 and 2 children are expected to spell correctly!

One final, very important piece of information!
There's a wonderful website www.northpole.com
which is full of brilliant activities for children and adults alike!
The most exciting feature is the
SANTA TRACKER
which enables you to track Santa delivering his presents to children (and Mum's and Dad's too!) all over the world!

Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy, Peaceful and Healthy 2017!!

This morning we had a very special visitor to Rowan Class!

Mr. Wylie, Rowan Class Governor, came in to spend some time with us.

He enjoyed Worship and Wake and Shake.

Rowan Christmas Craft Day

What a busy day we had yesterday!

With Christmas music in the background we all worked like little elves making pop-up cards, calendars, Father Christmas, Rudolph's and paper chains to decorate our room!

All the children worked independently using their skills of ICT, listening to instructions, drawing, cutting and sticking!

In these photographs you can see how hard the children worked and some of the end results!!

Our Christmas cards involved a lot of skills - cutting, folding, creating a pop-up feature and Christmas wreath with the children's photograph on.
Mum's and dad's will be very proud!

We listened carefully to Miss Long's instructions and worked independently creating our very own Rudolph.
We have quite a herd of them in our classroom right now!!

We took each other's photographs and have mounted and framed them to create a calendar for you!

We all made a length of paper chain and linked them together to hang from the ceiling.
Our room is VERY festive now!!
