Christmas Dinner!

This morning we made our hats ready for Christmas dinner!

We were certainly ready for something good to eat!

Jacob thought it was delicious!

So did Lewis!!

Very important dates and information!

This afternoon we're really looking forward to our Christmas Party and if we're lucky a very special visitor will be arriving!!

Tomorrow it will be our Christmas Dinner - the first of the season!

Mrs. Marrs and her staff in the kitchen always do us proud with a delicious meal with the Teachers serving the children!

We have made Christmas hats to get us into the mood!

DON'T FORGET TOMORROW EVENING AT 6PM THE SCHOOL CAROL SERVICE TAKES PLACE IN ST.PETER'S CHURCH!

Children from Beech and Sycamore classes will be leading it plus Christmas songs from the School Choir!

Come along, support them all and have a jolly good sing in your Christmas hats and tinsel!!

We finish school as usual at 3-30pm on Wednesday with the whole school enjoying a Christmas sing-a-long!

A very special visitor!

This morning we had a very special visitor to Rowan Class!

Mr. Wylie, Rowan Class Governor, came in to spend some time with us.

He enjoyed Worship and Wake and Shake.

He thought we were really good movers, just like Jagger!!

Mr. Wylie brought us a special treat as it's Christmas time - mmmmm - yummy!!

Rowan Christmas Craft Day

What a busy day we had yesterday!

With Christmas music in the background we all worked like little elves making pop-up cards, calendars, Father Christmas, Rudolph's and paper chains to decorate our room!

All the children worked independently using their skills of ICT, listening to instructions, drawing, cutting and sticking!

In these photographs you can see how hard the children worked and some of the end results!!

Our Christmas cards involved a lot of skills - cutting, folding, creating a pop-up feature and Christmas wreath with the children's photograph on.

Mum's and dad's will be very proud!

We listened carefully to Miss Long's instructions and worked independently creating our very own Rudolph. 

We have quite a herd of them in our classroom right now!!

We took each other's photographs and have mounted and framed them to create a calendar for you!

We all made a length of paper chain and linked them together to hang from the ceiling.

Our room is VERY festive now!!

Advent!

Where has this term gone!

"Time flies as you're having fun," as they say!

We have created our very own giant Advent Calendar in Rowan Class.

Behind each window is a picture representing Christmas and the preparation we need to do in order to be ready in time!

Today we are having a Christmas Craft Day where we are making everything in order to celebrate Christmas at home with our families!

Santa's elves have nothing on us!!

No sooner said than done!!

Within half an hour of our earlier blog was written, Lewis came in with the most amazing clown cookie!

Well done Lewis - yum yum!!

What's next?

The Autumn Term so far!!

The Autumn Term!

We can't believe we are over half way through this half term and boy have we packed lots of learning in!

We are really enjoying our topic 'The Circus' having learnt that the Romans created the first circus 2000 years ago and that Philip Astley began the first travelling circus as we know them almost 250 years ago.

We can't wait to compare his circus to the one in Blackpool Tower in a few weeks time!

We have worked very hard and led a fantastic Harvest Service in St. Peter's Church recently along with Ash Class.

We are also noticing signs of Autumn round and about.

Children have been bringing acorns and conkers into school when out and about with families during the weekend.

We have had fun making them into little characters!

We have also had some great teddy clown hats and bow ties too!

Have a go - it's great fun!

We're now waiting for the first decorated biscuits!

Welcome to the new school year!

Welcome to Rowan Class 2016 - 2017!

Well we've completed our first week in school since returning from the long summer holiday and we've still got smiles on our faces!

There are lots of differences in our class routines and ways of working but the children have coped with them exceptionally well and we are all very proud of each other!

We are very honoured to be leading our Harvest Service in church on Friday 23rd September along with Ash Class and are working very hard learning our words and songs for that!

Our Topic this term is all about The Circus and we can't wait to find out more. We will be sharing our learning with you on this blog as the term progresses!
